Mmmm… Nostalgia is a wonderful thing, is it not? Either way, this project will be based on ‘the past meeting the future’, as is our way But this needs to be a subtle meeting of the two eras, as we dont want to lose that GS1000 muscle bike stance.

The amazing Suzuki GS1000, A real 70’s Muscle bike! Bit by bit we will bring this bike up to date, but we will do this with the respect that this engine deserves. All components we build for our projects will be available in our store.
Cafe Racer? Streetfighter? Something inbetween? But there already was an ‘inbetween’ wasn’t there? The 1970’s and 80’s gave us all the precursors for the custom motorcycles been built today… The Muscle Bike!
That’s where we are going with this one, modern running gear is essential, to us anyway! But choices will have to be made carefully, for example Kineo wire wheels are the perfect choice for this kind of project, modern build quality but without distraction from the soul of the bike.
There should be some nice Suzuki GS1000 Custom parts available during this build.
We could have gone big bore with the the GS1000, but we have opted to keep the engine as stock as possible, we have the original carbs, which we will refurbish, and we will also gas flow and port the head.
The engine will be stripped down entirely, and checked thoroughly, all bearings and O-rings will be replaced etc. Then painted with the appropriate satin black heat resistant paint before its treated to a full set of stainless fasteners throughout.
The subframe will have a little nip at the rear, and the main frame may have some extra bracing.
The swingarm will be machined, with reverse pocketing, structured bracing, stress analysed and tig welded. Öhlins® twin shock set-up will keep the bike’s original silhouette.
All cases/covers will be replaced with our own designs, with thicker stronger covers, and cleaner sharper lines, but we are all about form following function here, so cooling is the focus!
Our adjustable rearsets will also be configured for the GS1000, along with an adjustable sidestand and quick release petrol cap for good measure.
The front end will see a set of our slotted yokes to take a pair of modern front forks, the beefier the better, together with our streetfighter headlight unit.
